Mentoring and Industry Advice

Mentoring

Do you have an idea you want to talk through? An extract you’d like impartial feedback on? Guidance to help you make your work the best it can be?

Mentoring is a great starting place to help you make the most of your writing. Working one-to-one, mentoring focusses on helping you, whatever it is you need.

Mentoring sessions are generally one hour, though 2 hour sessions are possible too. If you would like, we will read an extract of up to 5500 words in advance, and prepare to discuss it with you in detail during your session.

Mentoring works best when trust and rapport can be built over regular sessions. I recommend roughly monthly sessions, but I can work to whatever schedule works for you.

Industry Advice

We offer guidance and answer questions about how the literature industry works.

How do you go about finding an agent or publisher? What are the differences between pitching a fiction and a non-fiction project? Should you publish with independents or hold out in the hope of a bigger publisher? Is self-publishing a good idea for you?

Costs

Mentoring is offered face-to-face in Norwich or online via any communication platform.

It costs £60 per hour, plus any pre-reading.
