Story Machine publishes books to make the world a better place. To help our authors tell stories that console, challenge, question, and entertain.

We offer you the opportunity to share the books you love with readers who may not otherwise be able to afford them. Our Pay it Forward scheme helps good books reach readers.

You pay 50%, we pay 50%. A reader in need pays nothing at all.

How do I claim a free book?

We never assess need. You can select any book shown above. Simply send an email to hello@storymachines.co.uk with the name of the book you would like and your delivery address.

If email is difficult for you, you are welcome to call or text us on 07943063015.

We will get the book out to you as quickly as possible.

How do I Pay it Forward?

1. Add a book (or books) to your basket.
2. Enter PayItForward in the coupon box at checkout. Click Apply Coupon; a 50% discount will be added to all books in your basket. (Please note: all items in your cart will be treated as Pay it Forward. If you want to buy books for you, you will need to check them out seperately).
3. Add a UK based delivery address and select Pay It Forward postage (50% off) in the shipping.
4. Complete your payment details as normal.
5. Enter any UK Based delivery address.
6. To nominate someone to pay it forward to, leave that in the order notes (optional) box. It could be a school library or community centre, care home or individual. (If you don’t nominate anyone, the book will be made free to anyone to claim).
7. You can list your name as one of our generous donators, or remain anonymous. Please mention that you want your name listed in the order notes. (If you don’t mention this, you will be treated as an anonymous gifter)
8. Click Place Order to confirm and make your order.
