Coming Into Your Own
There’s something odd
about pushing into yourself,
feeling the shape of that strange room.
The furniture that when touched,
can make you forget where you are.
A room that is widening
and tightening at any sign of entry.
It’s funny how much you long for these
deaf, dumb visitors and their careful rhythms,
something wet slips off a curb.
