Supporting Artists in Lowestoft

Published by Sam Ruddock on

Story Machine is working with Think Lowestoft and East Suffolk Council to develop opportunities for artists, creatives, and cultural practitioners in Lowestoft. This is part of a bold and ambitious Town Investment Plan to place culture at the heart of regeneration and development.

Lowestoft is one of the bottom 10% of most deprived neighbourhoods in England, and a culturally underserved area for Arts Council funding.

To help tackle this we are delivering free to acccess workshops for artists, creative industry professionals, and cultural practitioners, helping build understanding of the opportunities for Arts Council England funding, and how to best approach an application.

We have then followed up with one-to-one fundraising support and consultation sessions to help develop strong applications. We have been thrilled to meet exciting people and help make their visions a reality.

The benefit for towns and cities in integrating place-making and culture in development strategies is well evidenced. We are thrilled to be a part is being it.
